We run the tool through our standardized prompt battery covering the tool's primary use cases. For writing tools, this includes 15 distinct writing tasks. For coding tools, 15 coding challenges. For image generators, 20 prompt tests. Testing is conducted blind when comparing tools.
All technical claims — pricing, context window, token limits, API availability, supported formats — are verified directly against the official product website and documentation at time of writing.
Every review is read by a second team member before publication to check for factual errors, unsupported claims, and bias.
Published reviews are monitored for reader-reported errors and scheduled for full re-testing on a 30-day cycle or sooner if significant product changes occur.
We rate tools on a 10-point scale across six criteria. The final score is a weighted average adjusted by tool category.
